Insuring a 182 at 18?

  Corsa VXR
I was looking to go with Direct Line cos there the cheapest on my 1.2 Clio at the minute, but they wont even quote me on the 182.

Wheres the best place to look for insurance at my age?

Cheers

It can be done, there's guys on here with Vee's at 20! It depends on your budget and determination! ;)

Try Adrian Flux and give Neil a shout at GreenLight.

girls have just as many accidents as men, but the cost of their claims are less as men write cars off, women have a bump in the car park

It was third party fire & theft but fully comp i think i found one for 1200.

So if men write cars off... that must mean they are better drivers - how? I was only kidding anyway. I don't think it honestly matters what you have between your legs... that can't say whether you can drive or not!

The best quote i can get is around £1750 with elephant!

i am 19 with 1yr NCB and an accident

my friend is 20 2yr NCB an he pays £1600 with swinton

Both fully comp

  Mk2 172
im 24 and im with direct line and i pay 450 fully comp with pncb. my girlfriend is 20 and they wont insure her on it cos they say she has to be 21.?

  Cup Turbo, Flamer
I paid £1600 for my cup when i was 18, no NCB and it was my own policy, that was 4 years ago though, went to a broker and they sorted it for me, some random company can't remember the name!

Don't bother, go spend money on other things, 182 aint that amazing you should spend so much on it, anyhow IMO

Couldnt agree more! wait till you can afford to insure one at a reasonable price. 150 quid a month on insurance isnt worth it for a 182 imo. Just wait a bit.

Woman hit things that don't move, men hit things that travel at high speed.

If the lad can justify it then why not?

When i was 18 i had a 1.2 16v dynamique which was my 1st car while i was studying, i bought the 182 just before i finished studying when i'd just turned 21, my 1st year was £1050 fully comp with 0NCB in my own name with my mum on the policy.

2nd year insuring it there just before Christmas i'd just turned 22 it dropped to £850 again in my name with mum on the policy with 1YNCB.

I'll prob keep it for another year then change next summer for something else, M3 or the likes.

id be wise for me to keep my 1.2 whilst i study but if it means getting raped whilst at university then ill do it.

To be honest, 150 smackers a month is roughly what its going to cost me to insure the 1.2 fully comp on my own. Drops to 800 after that first year... If you want to do it & can afford it... You're only young once. Not like you have to save for a house or anything yet. Do it, don't crash, enjoy it.

Its not worth it at your age, audis are cheap to insure though ;) mine was 1200 at 20 with 0 ncb, that was a few years back mind, to put it into perspective i can insure an audi s4 for 20 quid less than the 172 i just bought....
