Just had the renewal through on the Audi, just My Mrs is insured as I have my own policy.

NOTHING has changed since last year, except we are married.

The car, house, job, location, usage, 6k per year limit, excess, EVERYTHING is the same.

Just had a renewal letter through, £490!!! Cheeky c***s! I only paid £230 last year!

Just did 3 comparison website things, and the cheapest I can find is £363.

How does that work?? She's got one more years no claims than last year!

Not sure buddy but my quote on a 172 has gone up £500 since the last time I got a quote (about a month ago) No idea why :(

Prices do obviously go up each year but that's ridiculous! One year, the price increase was more than an extra years NCB discount for me. I'd ring up and ask why, and ask for discount. I got three discounts on a policy by just ringing up 3 times and asking. They declined a fourth discount lol

Also, try the cheapest of the comparisons sites direct. I saved a couple hundred quid on a £1000 policy by going to them direct!

Now technically I can not insure it but keep it on the MID so nobody will ever know.... Including ANPR cars.

But i think i've got too much of a concience. (sp)

Its a ball ache. I've got a quote on the 172 and a reference number, if it chages for no reason i'm going to be properly mad. Think I may ring up to tomorrow and check. Even so its too late i'm buying the car anyway.

I presume you've got a traders policy?

Can you not stick the Mrs on that? (I have no idea how they work) x

Its a lease car, needs to be on its own Fully comp policy under the finance terms and conditions.

I got hit with an inflated price this year, did an online quote then phoned up and whinged a bit that it didn't match my renewal, so they honoured the online quote. Bit of a result I thought.

Danny, My trade policy only covers upto the value of £25k and in my finance paperwork, it states the policy must cover the full list price of the vehicle, which was £28650 iirc.

It does suck arse, but if it gets nicked, I need to know its covered!!

Ah right. Yeah mines limited, and it's lower than that, as i dont work on very high value stuff. Upgradeable for not a large amount though. Not worth bumping your cover to £30k?

No, because then i've got to put the wife on the policy, which will load it up, then bumping it up to £30k will load it up and it will no doubt upset my business partner who runs a £56k Q7 so he'll want a piece of the action! lol!!
