Hi All
Has anyone seen or used the Inter Active Power System featured in the below link

Never come across these, but Id want a lot more info than that if I was going to buy one. Improvements of 20%? I rather doubt it (on a 172 anyway). 20% would give you about 206bhp!

The IAPS is a fuel injection and ignition timing (on some models)
adjustment unit that is wired into the wiring harness of your
vehicles ECU wiring harness. Information is given to the cars
ECU’s ignition and fuel system to enable optimum power
performance. Activation is carried out by the Topdrive
programmable gearlever so you get power only when you need it.
Adjustments can be done manually but it is recommended that
specialist fitting is carried out to optimize performance.
This is generally done through live data diagnostic equipment ,
enabling accurate settings (Our Topdrive technicians will be only too pleased to advise you on settings for specific vehicles) Using adjustable chip setting technology the IAPS is able to offer a large area of adjustment without making any permanent changes to the ECU.
When the IAPS is not activated the vehicle will operate under its
normal pre programmed specifications and will not interfere with
emissions. Removing or non activation of the system returns the
car to its previous condition. The IAPS can be set to suit
your driving style and to accommodate any modifications already
made (i.e. air filter change or exhaust modifications).

What power increase can I expect?
There are many factors that change the amount of power is to be achieved or expected and it can depend upon many things i.e. exhaust, air filter, original BHP, e.t.c. The IAPS is designed and intended for circuit racing and so performs better at higher RPM and
providing the engine, ignition and fuel system are in good working order and operating at the cars relevant acceleration peaks,
improvements of about 20% can be expected. The IAPS can match optimal Fuel/Air ratio to enable greater performance.

Will it fit single point or multi point injection system?
Yes the IAPS will fit either system, whether it has a Cat or not.

Will my car run better?
Fitting of the IAPS will not improve you cars performance if it
does not run correctly now. We do strongly recommend that before all installations the vehicle has an engine management test to rectify and clear all previous faults. The IAPS WILL NOT disguise faults. It is likely that the IAPS will make a fault prominent when operated.

When it comes to an MOT will my car be Ok on an emissions test?
Yes, when the IAPS is not in use the ECU will be running on its
factory setting, so your emissions will remain the same as before
installation.

Will it help me overtake?
Yes. When the engine reaches its power band and the IAPS is
activated it WILL help you overtake.



I personally think a 20% increase is a tad optimistic. Its probably just as good as those E-Tech valves
