Will an intercooler only fit a car with a turbo?

No you dont need it. When turbos spins up the air it makes it warm, the intercooler lowers the temp of the intake air.

and the reason the air gets warmer is because of compression, compressing air generates heat, same reason why when you spray your deoderant for a few seconds the can gets cold, cause your coverting a liqued to a gas.

which co-incidently is how your fridge works.. but lets not go there.
