Intercoolers

As you may know I'm building a megane hybird Clio, but while building up the engine tonight I thinking will it be possible to use a megane jntercooler rather than my ktec one? Making it easier to pipe up?

Will do my own research but thought I'd ask

pipework will most likely need modified in certain areas to make it fit 100% but its probably the easiest option

I know there will be slight modification but hopefully not as much with the megane cooler aslong as it fits

im looking at uprated megane coolers as i know the standard one its restrictive

Megane coolers have one port that points up and I dont think this works very well with the cross member. The focus st intercooler works well though I think but will still need some custom pipework.

If you go for a 2.5" intercooler I may have some more pipework available as it probably wont fit my new setup and rather than chopping it you could use it. Just a thought.

The intercoolers on ebay are spot on. Around £50 for the smaller ones and about £65 for the next size up. They are the same ones you get from KTEC, ED, Jamsport etc. etc. but without the premium.

They work very, very well. Don't waste your money.

No problem mate. Intercoolers are one these things that most will work somehow but some are just easier to fit and pipe.

For the boost you want to run it probably wont need to be anything too fancy. Just one that fits nicely behind the bumper and has convenient positions for the ports.

Shouldn't be a problem if you can make it all fit ok. The Megane one is probably a better quality core too.

This. On the SCN, we found the £89 eBay 600x300x76 cooler was outperforming the forge race one at 10x the price!

If you compare to a proper Garrett core the difference is pretty large mate, the ones you are comparing to there are all just branded versions of the same generic cheapy cores, but a decent quality core is on another level.
