Interior advice

  182 Cup
I dont currently own a clio, I am currently on the market for one. Today I went to view a lovely 172 cup which I am currently contemplated making an offer for. Exterior wise the car is lovely, however, the current owner is a builder, and unfortunately has brought a lot of dirt into the car and doesnt appear to care much for keeping it clean. Althought alot of the black plastic surfaces will probably easily wipe clean, the door cards are my main worry, they appear to be lightly stained brown by the dust, I am wondering if anyone else has had a similiar problem and managed to solve it. I dont really want to buy the car and find out that ideally it needs new door cards to bring it up to shape. The steering wheel is also completely shot unfortunately, new wheel time I think. Thanks.

Tbh with you, if he's not even been arsed cleaning it properly for you coming to view it, then what else has he possibly not been arsed doing with the car? I'd steer clear if I were you. However if you really do want to buy it, it shouldn't be too hard to remove with some AutoGlym Interior Shampoo or something similiar. I've accidentally had cataloy filler dust on my seats before and it came out no problems with the AG interior stuff.

Complete interiors from cups go for less than £100, seats, doorcards the lot.

But id think it would clean up. Is the fabric in the doorcards stained too?

jcc although I see your point, I saw it as a positive thing. Hes not trying to hide anything on the car and I know what the problems are. Its all common niggles really. Other than that he has replaced tyres recently and just had a full service including the cambelt, hes the second owner and its full service history.

Peperami, sorry it is the fabric on the door cards I meant, the plastic will wipe clean.

Door cards etc are realy hard to keep clean. I wouldn't say its a negative thing about the cars owner.

My car's exterior is a little tatty due to a couple of miss haps. However the car has been properly serviced etc and is mechanically mint. I try and look after it but sometimes things are out of your control.
