interior lights

since i bought my car the interior lights havent been working- i changed the fuse and both bulbs earlier and now one of the lights work when i open the door but neither of them work off the switch - the only thing i can think that could be bust is the switch - can anyone think of anything else?

You may be suffering the same trouble as me then fella. My contacts are all corroded and green. This is down to a leaky sunroof that has never been fixed.

Are we talking roof console? Ive just got a replacement one as the old one was beyond cleaning. Id pull the lightbulb housing away and then look at the contacts.

My glovebox, boot and various dashlights dont work either. Its going to be great fun trying to find out why, this w/e!

well ive only had the car a week or 2 and the AA guy who did a check on it mentioned that the sunroof was leaking slightly so you might be right.
my glove box light doesnt work either but thats not as important and im pretty sure thats not to do with the sunroof. lol probably just a dodgy bulb-

how much did you have to pay for your new your new roof console bit?

Err. Dunno. I ordered a full console, a full passenger heater vent, a few clips and screws for elsewhere and it all came to c£25. So less than that.

I ordered from http://www.infinicar.comwww.infinicar.com and he got it to us in no time. His stuff snt new BTW, but it was all in damn good nick.

thats who i got my 17 arches and bumper from that im now selling - how do you take the old one off and fit the new one and where exactly am i looking for the coroded terminals?

3 screws in total. Remove the light cover and then remove the light housing (comes out dead easy). Theres 2 screws under here.

Then remove the plipper housing and theres a screw under there.

Youll also need to pull out the housing for the sunroof switch. Kinda fiddly but not too bad. The contacts for the light unit itself are just on the reverse side of the bulbs. You may only need to replace this housing and the sunroof switch housing as the console piece doesnt have any connections. Check your sunroof switch as well as mine is also badly corroded, sticks in the on position and doesnt lie flat.

I just thought balls to it, Ill have the whole jobby. My plipper casings broken on one side though and the sunrrof switch is corroded.
