Intermittent Brake Light.

Picked up the car on Sunday and my mate noticed that my drivers side brake light decided to work when it wants. Popped the light out and it looks a little corroded, but all the wiring seems fine and the bulbs look okay. Ive never had an issue like this, whats my best option, I wondered if there is any kind of spray I could use? Best one? Its a pain because sat on the drive it works, seems to be when I drive it decides not to now and then!

Its a common problem its the earth body wiring contact. Do a search im sure someoen will have posted a picture etc.

Electrical contact cleaner on the connectors, use a small screwdriver too push the pins closer together, that should fix it, hopefully!!

Edit: You could clean up the pins with a small wire brush

Thank you, I shall have a ganders and see if that makes a diffence. Its such a pain in the arse to sort because its so intermittent and I can't drive behind myself, and 9/10 it works on the driveway.

As said its a common problem.
Clean the connectors with WD40/electrical contact cleaner and a stiff brush.
