intermittent fault with headlight

my passenger side headlight works for about 30 seconds when cold sometimes longer but flickers any idea what the problem could be?

Does it have Xenon's? if so, could be the Lamp, the Ballast or the Igniter.

Swap each of the said items above over from the other side and see what cures it!

just thought about trying that and i cant get to the back of the drivers side one..... had the lamp out and it has a black spot in the centre which indicates its blown but why would it come on for a short time and then go out...

The lamps can be bought relatively cheaply circa £18 for a pair online, maybe just buy a set and see?

The fact it's intermittent should tell you you have a bad connection on one of the terminals either due to corrosion or it isnt seated properly.

If either the bulb, ignitor or ballast had gone the headlamp would stop working all together.
