Right, I may be about to go full r****d:

I have an iCloud account, but I have XP, so can't access it through my PC.

My contacts are sync'd to iCloud, although I seem to have 3 versions now, iCloud, Phone and Gmail, but what happens if I lose my contacts and want to restore?

My phone is still sluggish on ios5, mainly going into menus like settings, takes a few seconds the first time after it being locked.

But I've solved my battery issues. I did all the things on that link and it hardly made any difference. Phone was still dying mid evening, even with very little use.

So this morning I turned off facebook push alerts, I had them turned off before, either the upgrade to ios5 or the reinstalling the facebook app after the upgrade put them back on again.

So it's 7pm and I've been the using the phone all day and it's on 74%, what a difference turning off Facebook push has made!

I've modified a few contacts this afternoon - as you do from time to time. However, a few seconds after i modified them, they appear in duplicate. Any idea why this is?

Yes but it hasn't fixed my speed issues unfortunately.

A few others at work have the same issue, I'm hoping an update will fix it. Although someone offered my £300 for the 4 yesterday so I might just get a 4s anyway.

Just glad I've solved the battery problem. No idea whats happenings with Facebook though, I turned off all the push notifications, the battery is great, but I still receive messages appearing in the notifications center, even when I've not touched the phone or the Facebook app for it to update manually, strange.

You should really ditch XP.

I have a lap top for going on CS, checking email and occasionally looking at p**n. I don't really need to upgrade.

You don't need to upgrade at all. XP is superior for the more advanced user. It can be stripped right back to a bare OS and not use too much memory. Lovely.

Windows 7 is so much better than xp, people who don't like change are blind to this fact, vista was dodgy, but windows 7 is great.

I think I even prefer 7 to lion, but that's because I am more experienced with it and don't know lion well enough, that will come with time.

But xp is getting on a bit really. Bring yourself into the 21st century.

my wireless sync just stopped working after working fine for a week?!

Turns out the new AVG update DISABLES iTunes in windows firewall settings. I checked the box to turn on again and re-started PC and phone. BOOM, works ok now.

There is a fair difference between the two though is there not? So will depend on the needs

Remote will play the selected file in iTunes

Home Sharing will play the selected file on the device (phone/pad etc)

Remote and home sharing would do that. The audio would just resolve in different locations depending on how you did it.

Really? I guess what I really want is to be able to use my phone to sync tracks from my Library to keep them on my phone.

You cant do that. Not yet.

In theory if you pay for iTunes match then you could just download tracks at will.
(or if ALL your music is from iTunes you can do it now)

Only just updated, and lost a few of my apps for some reason? But after i download them they come with all the data they had.

Did you give it time to reload the apps? The phone isn't locked in sync mode anymore while they're restored.
