iOS5 Question

Rob, just untick what you don't want synced you egg. You're stressing over genius.

And Newsstand wouldn't work in a folder, it's practically a folder already - folder in a folder is a no(lder). You should be able to delete it though.

Calm.

Firstly, I know I can untick them, but why should I have to? I just wanted to have the apps I had before!! FFS.

Newstand needs to be be in a god damn folder because it needs to be in my "useless s**t" folder!!! I'll do the "hack" thing now.

I backed up my iphone and did an update to iOS 5. It said do you want to revert back to the back up? I clicked yes. Guess what? It has lost most of my apps. 4 hours of updating. Stupid thing ARRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
If i back up on the desktop with the older version, will it remember my update?

I set a reminder for when I arrive at work. I'm now at work. There is no reminder popping up. Bent.

Your welcome!

For some reason my iPhone will not get any music. ITunes says that it's transferring music and when I look on the phone after there is nothin there.

Well after 8 hours of downloading last night it failed right at the end. Trying again today :(

tbh its not a mahooooosive change, few neat little tricks. i like the IMessage, and the albums in pictures, although i still dont have an app store for some unknown reason,

A question which may be really dumb. If I have already updated to iOS5, can someone else plug there iPhone into my Macbook and update theirs if they have backed up their iPhone on there Desktop? My cousin is having internet issues and doesn't have a laptop so was thinking I may be able to help him out. Probably a stupid question lol

I managed to back up and update a friends iPhone on my itunes. Just can't transfer anything purchased in itunes or app store.

If you knew it stood for that, then why ask her WTF is has to do with the update? Last time I checked the IPSW was downloaded from the internet, so BB (broadband) speed is key to the time it takes to update?

Mine only took 20 mins to update, didnt lose any apps or anything... fibre optic BB FTW

From that post I think its safe to say Laura is just explaining that her iphone updated without any issue, and due to her fibre broadband, it only took 20 mins.

WTF has ur BB got to do with the backup/restore?

In the context of her OP, her BB speed is highly relevant.

The issue isn't the download though.

It's the Apple update/restore not wiping songs/apps etc.

I know. We all know. Laura never said her iPhone successfully synced due to her faster internet, it was just a general comment, which someone didn't grasp, and I tried to explain.

thank fuk for that, someone understands.

are u all Northerners?!

Oh the irony of incinuating Northerners are of lesser intellect, with your grammatical prowess.

I hate the speed of my internet. 4 hours remaining?

FML.

Nothing to do with that m8 - it will be Apple throttling the speeds back. I'm sat on a 30MB connection at the minute and it took over an hour to download the 670MB or so for my 3GS.

Oh, and it literally makes feck all difference on a 3GS either - lol.

D.

Really? You on the Ashton Under Lyne exchange? I am, currently syncing at about 38mb down and it took minutes to download for me...who is your ISP?

So if he made a back up on his desktop PC , he should be able to update his iPhone on my Macbook then when its done should be able to synce all his purchases back onto his iPhone when he gets home? Just worried about him loosing contacts and stuff, but that will be backed up on his PC anyway shouldn't it?

just gotten an iPad2 today, i think after the update i can't get onto the mail, calander and contacts as it now goes straight to the main screen. it didn't do this before
