iPad crashed.

Just started to download ios6 on my ipad 2 and the scree. Went black with apple logo and bar underneath and then crashed. No buttons work inc switch off. Doesn't connect to laptop. What can I do?

Press and hold lock and home button, see if that resets it.

Thanks. I tried that earlier but perhaps not for long enough. Now have to restore. What an arse. Thanks for help.
