iPad/iPhone problem

Basically when I send a text (iMessage) on my iPhone, it sends it on my iPad as well, and when I get a reply I get one to my iPhone but also my iPad. It is annoying. My iPad has a different number to my iPhone as there both on difference networks, I'm guessing it is something to do with my apple I'd. How can I stop this from happening, cheers

Done it, used another email address for the iMessage on the iPad , close thread.
