iPhone 4S signal

  Rav4
Hi,

The iPhone4 is doing my nut in, this is my third one and still bad on signal.

I normally typically leave it with 3G turned off, unless I need to download things quickly/updates on maps.

Generally, I find that it's cutting me off calls frequently "call failed" and it's quite annoying. If on 3G, even worse.

I am not too bothered about the new camera or Siri, I would simply just buy the 4S purely for the signal improvement.

I don't want any other brand, iOS works well for me and provides me what I need.

Those that have 4s, upgraded from a 4, how do you find it?

Thanks very much in advanced,

Gabi.

Thank you for the replies.

I am with o2, never had issues with them on the E71/E72 and other phones I have used.

iPhone is the one here, though, can't completely rule out the network.

Well, if the iPhone 4S is better (even though you had no issues before) then that to me, is an improvement.

You can use a bumper to alleviate the 'you're holding it wrong' problem. However mine still drops calls from time to time. I think it's just networks these days. I'm on 3 but I know people on O2 have the same problems.

Some of the earlier models had signal issues, they would just go absent subscriber for no reason. Not heard of it for a while.

Either, get a mates iPhone and insert your sim and see how it is in exact same location or ask Apple to change handset out as it "could" have a fault.

Networks do drop calls, the other handsets you used, were they in the same place as you are getting the signal/call drops now? Your network could have interference on this cell now, it happens. Depends on how proactive they are, I used to do traces etc and you could determine the call drop reason and then a visit to the customer to check signal levels etc. Could usually establish a cause, 50% handsets, 40% s**t signal 10% network fault i.e. equipment or interference.

Edit just read 3rd handset!! Speak to your network provider.
