Do i need to contact o2 before i go. Just wondered as the iphone is not your conventional phone.

Don't think you have to tell em- watch out cos data charges are not included in the tariff when roaming and will cost a fortune. On the iphone 3g data roaming is switched off by default to avoid running up huge bills abroad.

Mine worked over in the USA fine. Picked up AT&T straight away.

Watch the charges though!

Ye I have heard about the charges. I will switch off GPRS as well.

Yeah you have to watch out for apps trying to update etc...

Wifi is fine. I used it loads on holiday.

You should be fine with everything on as long as you don't try and update apps or purchase songs etc without wifi.

I used big boss prefs app to switch off edge/GPRS. As far as I know without that the only way of switching off data is to put it in aircraft mode and then the phone and wifi don't work either.
