Iphone question

I know someone will know the answer to this...hopefully.

I have a nokia 5800 xpress music phone that i have had for less than a year, my mum is due an upgrade so was thinking about getting an iphone.

I was just wondering if i put my sim card into an iphone on the same network would it work ok or do iphone's have different sim cards or anything?

They use the same sim cards. Well the current ones do.
