Ipod Confrence live?

No today was a iPod only event. The 2.1 firmware was mentioned very briefly for the iPhone.
 
Anyone know if the macbooks getting updated will be buying one in the coming week, dont wanna waste money as theyll probably bring out a new one soon!
 
I really wouldn't do that.

The new MB's are a total reskin, you WILL regret it.
 
hmmmmmmmmm ill wait then seems to be rumours saying another september announcement ill hang tight for a little longer in that case ;)
 
The MacBooks don't often get a event to announce their arrival, last time around they simply appeared with a press release.
 
It's slightly thinner and now comes with a inbuilt speaker, volume controls and Nike+. I think it's also slightly cheaper but I can't remember how much Apple were charging for the previous model.
 
When I bought my 8gb Nano, I really wished there was a 16gb one. There is now, but why make the new one so much bigger?

I don't know whether to get a 16gb nano, spend £70 more and get a touch, or stay with my perfect sized nano.

Card is going to get used today I fear.
 
I prefer the larger sized Nano, the bigger screen will be a huge improvement. Despite the taller look it's not exactly big, I have the model prior to the outgoing Nano.
 
I only use it for music, have no interest in watching anything on it, so I wish they'd kept it nice and small. But, it's not that big.

Is the touch worth £70 more?
 
It is but not if you only plan to use it for music playback. If so you'd be better off with the Nano or spending £30 more on the 120gb Classic.
 
Yeah I suppose. I really doubt I'd use it for anything other than music. I may have used the wi-fi if I had it on me, but once in a blue moon I expect.

16gb nano I reckon then.
 
looks like i will be having the 16gb touch then...

when do you reckon these will be available in store's
 
They said they will be available later this week so hopefully by the weekend.

I'd probably spend £30 more and get the Classic rather than the Nano if size is not a issue. 120gb storage is excellent.
 
Never been an iPod fan at all and have stuck with my old Sony NW1 since it came out but I feel it is time for a change!

So iPod time it is. Kind of wish the nano had stayed within the dimensions of the old version but I can understand the bonus of the new features and bigger screen. Due to only really wanting an iPod for music then I think the 16GB nano will do quite nicely. I guess these are pretty easy to use while running/ in the gym too?
Classic with 120GB would be nice but I don't think I would use it for everything I want due to it being a little bigger, heavier and less easy to use on the move/ on a run.

Be cool if anyone can confirm or disprove my thoughts! :)
 
Got myself a new iPod Touch at the weekend. Haven't used it yet, am charging it as I type. Looks awesome. Slippery little sucker though! Definitely gonna have to get a cover on it or something as I can see me dropping it big style. Love the look of it and am extremely impressed with the screen quality. It's just updating at the minute too I think...
 
AWESOME. Love it. Shame I don't know anyones wireless keys to pick up the net at the minute! Going to load it up tonight and get a case today. Love the functionality of the touch screen.
 
Had a proper play last night and I think it's a brilliant bit of kit, only thing I can't seem to sort though is how to access videos from itunes via the touch? It only seems to show music.
 
i bought the 32gig touch form apple last week, arrived yesterday, i love it too! pretty funky peice of kit
 
got to agree with you i got a 16gb from the apple shop and its awesome definitely better with the speaker...
 
I put 300 and Sin City on it last night and am well impressed with the screen quality. Tried to rip Casino Royale and it wouldn;t work for some reason, I assume it's right protected mroe than the others. I use DVD Shrink but does anyone know of any quality programs that can get around the Casino Royal protection and stuff? Don't mind paying for a decent one unless they are free of course!
 
Is the iPod Nano 16GB (4th Gen) out now? The Apple on-line store is stating 5-7 days dispatch, Currys & Comet are stating they aren't released yet, Amazon are noting them as 1-2 months for delivery and some other sites say they have them in stock... I'm a bit confused to say the least!

I do have Amazon vouchers to use but then I don't want to wait 1-2 months for it :S
