I think it's time i pulled my finger out & bought one too... caraudio sounds good.. think i'll just get the cable not the dash bracket though, and keep the pod in the glovebox.

Stoopid question, when you disconnect the changer...

you dont have to remove the renault head unit fully and unplug the ISO do you?> i havent got a radio code :)

No you just pull the HU out there's enough cable to get it out of dash and it's directly on the back,it say's in the instructions to disconect the battery lead but you don't have to.

I got my Denison Ice Link through the post today (bloody quick delivery!) and after bending some wire coat hangers.. removed the stereo (without disconnecting) and fitted it no problems what so ever.
I fed the dock cable into the glove box & pushed the ice links cables & small plasticy covered circuit board (whatever it is) over towards the glovebox...and it seeded to go somewhere out of the way of the stereo!, god knows where it's all sat, but it's in there & working now! :)
Just waiting for it to start rattling behind the dash now & fall out into the foot well!! lol i'm sure it'll be ok.

Anyway, it's all in & working within minutes & i am Very please with it, just had little play with it on my drive and it all works fine, so at last i have wiped the dust off & started to use my iPod again!

Thanks for all the advice by the way, it all helped :)

Cheers

I got mine last Thursday, I would have posted then but I've had no internet.

If you' remove the glovebox light you can feed the cable through by the flexible clip bit and then refit the light. Super neat and no need to drill a hole.

I just bought the Dension wired kit with cradle for £99 from a local shop. Will be in tomorrow. And bought my iPod from another shop which is also in tomorrow.

Bloody quick turnaround considering I only decided to buy one about 35 mins ago haha!!

That show's the old kit you don't get any of that anymore,i drilled a hole in the trim that hold's the hazzard light switch to feed the cable through, then bought the replacement trim for £15 for when i need to replace it when selling the car,you can see in post #27 that way you can use the bracket/cradle that comes with the Dension kit and don't have to buy a secondary bracket like it shows in the picture.

^^^ Thanks for that. I wanted to avaoid drilling anything if at all possible so I've also got a seperate bracket. Hmmm... Maybe I didn't need it after all!

I'm getting the cradle that slots in the side of the dash and can be mounted on the left or right of the central blowers. I'll probably mount it on the right so i can press it with my left hand if necessary. And then the cable should be able to route through somewhere near the steering wheel.

Get a Dension kit,it works with the steering wheel controls. It plugs into the back of your HU where the multi-changer would connect. Then what happens is your 1-6 buttons on the HU become your playlist's 1-5 are the first five play list on the i-pod pressing button 6 allows you to select the remainder of your i-pod playlist's using the fastforward or rewind controls.

Lots of people say that you are better getting a Connects 2 kit which does the same but is cheaper,i got the Dension kit for £100 and in my opinion looks more a complete job than the connects 2 which as a big metal box which you have to try and hide somewhere and doesn't come with a cradle.

Also if you looking at a Dension kit make sure you get the new version which only came out a couple of months ago.

This is were i got mine from.

Ref fitting.do it your self it's really easy, what i did was srew the cradle into the fascia that holds the hazzard/doorlock/heater screen switches then got a replacment from Reno for £14 for when i sell the car,it makes it look a better job than using one of those brackets that won't damage your car.

Ordered mine from here this afternoon, any idea on how long they take to deliver Bruce?

just had a read of all this as i got an ipod nano yesterday.

does this one http://www.gadget-and-gizmos.co.uk/dension-icelink-plus-renault-update-list-p-177.html (the one Rich has) work with the ipod nano? i got confused with the 'denison cradle options' at the bottom. which one for the ipod nano???

Does it come with all the connectinos and a cradle? I have become confused since reading apple.com, this thread, denison.com etc etc!! please help a techo noob! :)

you can select what connector you require, so you can have the cradle (specific to each ipod version, doesn't look like theres one for the nano but there maybe an adapter) to fit on your dash or you can get the dock connector if you want to put it away in your glove box (like i have).

theres a drop down box for this. as for fitting the nano, i'm not 100% on that, i assume the dock connector is the same for them as it is for the rest of the ipods. (don't quote me on this mind)

The dock connector ... i.e just the cable option will fit all ipods. The one I have can used on any of the ipods made, bar the shuffle. I have a normal ipod and a nano and both work.

The Cradle is takes the standard ipod but you get an adapater to make it nano sized I think.
