Ipod holder

  Ph1

Anyone know of any good ipod holders which dont require having holes drilled into the dash ???

Where would i get one from ??

Can you buy proper holders for the job ??

Ive got a mini ipod

Cheers

You can get them on ebay do you want one that fits in your cupholder or on the heater grills?

Let me know and Ill send you the link....

How do you hook yours up to the header unit?

it would have to be one on the heater grill cos i dont have a cup holder :(:D

Its linked up with this new box thing from Alpine. A cable from i think its the CD autochanger links to this box and then a lead goes out to the ipod.

Cost me £69

All my stored songs are run off the head unit i dont need to touch the ipod at all plus the ipod is charged up all the time !!

I have a Clio 182 on order for March 1st and I want to be able to hook up an Ipod to the stereo and have full control over it with the head unit and so on. It looks like someone is doing this. What lead do I need and where might I get it from?

Many thanks,

Tyler

Thanks Mr Sheep,

I have looked at this lead but it sounds like I might not have as much control as id like.

For example, Id like to be able to select an album by name. Is this possible if i get a different head unit, and if I did, would I still be able to use my steering wheel controls?

So many ipod questions....

Also will the new ipod photo ones work ?

not sure about ipod photo but id say yes.

if u get an aftermarket HU the lead will be cheaper but they dont make them for pioneer yet (future they will)

yep they do have id tags to so on a new HU u can see what is shown on the ipod.

go to denison usa there is a demo on there which shows u how it works

as for the steering controls u just need a stalk adapter about 10 quid.

alpine make a stereo which u can buy and interface for (£65.00) they are the only brand that has there own proper ipod connection

Yeah, cheers man, funnily enough I have been looking at the alpines today and they are really sweet, but expensive. It sounds like it might cost me about £600 for everything including the ipod 20gb.

On the good news front, I cancelled my order for a new clio 182 and bought one 6 months old with 7,000 mailes on the clock and saved my self a load of cash! So I might use that spare money to get the dvd screen set up which is even nicer but might end up costing about £1300 all in. Which sounds too expensive, but hey, youre only here once!
