My i(s**t)Pod has decided to randomly lose music all the time. I go to play something and it just skips it and moves onto the next song. When I plug my pod into a pc, the song shows up on iTunes but there is an exclamation mark on the left hand side of the song, and when I double click on the tune nothing happens.
Its very annoying, as some recent compilation stuff has just disappeared, and whilst I am travelling, I don't have my own pc, so I really do rely on iTunes (I know its bad, its the only thing that some net cafes have out here and they don't usually let you install your own programs) to keep my music in order and to update my playlists. I also have had to either buy a cd, copy it to my iPod and send the CD back home, or use the music store to download music.
Disappearing music is very annoying when you have only just bought it. Can anyone help?! I remember WinAmp having a 'Probe iPod for Lost Music' option on it somewhere, but I don't think I can install it on the net pcs I use.
Balls.
Steve.
P.S. My Pod is a 4th Gen w/clickwheel, 20gb. Its over 2 years old and so is out of warranty too.
