iPod - Opps!!

right.... I know this is quite long but i NEED help ASAP!!!

had a 20gb gen 3 (i think) ipod for a while... the software i use for it is anapod.

Once i put the music onto my ipod, i delete it off my computer so it doesnt waste space on my hard drive.

Upgraded to a new ipod video 30gb yesterday, and plugged in old ipod to pc to copy all of my music off my old ipod onto my computer, and then planned to then put all the songs onto my new ipod.

Ok, so i opened anapod and selected all the songs, and then told it to copy them to computer. All good... get to about 1400 songs copied then nothing... just crashed... But its done that before so i thought id just give it another go... same thing happened.....

so i thought that i might be telling it to do to many at once so i just selected about a sixth of the songs and then told it to copy to computer..

but crashed again. So i downloaded an ipod backup program, and got that going... but the fucked crashed after about 1000 songs, tried it sevral times and crashed each time..

Also downloaded another backup tool, but that crashed too!!!

So i thought there mite be a problem with the firmware on the ipod, so i was going to reinstall the firmware on it, but because i already had the latest firmware, i went into: My computer > ipod > iPod_Control > device > SysInfo

and once i had opened that i changed the buildID to an older version, so that when i opened the ipod installer thing on my computer it would think the ipod was running old firmware, and then update it... however, they must have changed it now so you cannot do this anymore, as the ipod installer insisted i already had the latest firmware on my ipod, so i pissed about with the version thing for a minute, then got pissed off and thought, f**k it, if i delete everythin it might get the fuckin idea... so i deleted it all, and it still didnt work..

then two mins later i went on my ipod and it says there are no songs on it... im guessing there has to be some link in the sysinfo and the itunes database on the ipod, but i aint a clue..

so if anyone can help me, please reply, pm me, or add me to msn..

thanks!
