Right my macbook pro is the late 2011 13" i5 version.

i have previously been able to plug my iPod in and sync but today it just shows up the loading symbol in iTunes only and iTunes refuses to work

The only thing that has has changed is the cable but i have a genuine one and an asda special cable they both work on windows iTunes. I don't have access to the previous cable but can't see how this could make a difference.

Does anyone know what i can do to fix it, however simple or complicated it may be.

So it's the same iPod. The same MacBook Pro. You've only changed the cable.

And now you're asking for help on how to fix things?

yes, but it works perfectly on windows, i synced it on windows again then it worked on my mac
