I think some ones s**t the bed recently with the looks of this reply.
are there any threads where you don't ***** your company out Fred? It's a thread about GDI's package, not yours, so showing some class would be a nice surprise. If you were that good you wouldn't need to push your products and services in people's faces so much...:nono:
Yea the thread is about GDi but the guy is asking about tuning packages an if they are worth it etc etc so freddy boi has merly said go and have a chat with him to see what he can do. If you look upp the thread youll see other people have also said pm me etc etc.
ON THREAD - i think ill be going for TB's at the mo but i just can not decide.

Reference boosting power in a Clio, surely a more taut elastic band in the engine bay would do the trick?

Fred and some of the other parts suppliers and tuners poach business on Cliosport on the forum or via PM. Many believe this is what Cliosport is here for. Business is business and it's not for us members to bother ourselves with. Cliosport Admin are here to do things whichever way they want to for our benefit.
The Stoddie post is as many believe a load of tosh that only his close mates and those dear to him in other places chose to believe. This pack of lies could have been prevented from being posted, but this might well have resulted in having no forum here to post in. Thankfully GDI were so inundated with work to bother taking matters too far.
LRTom. You read through everything then decide what's best for you. You can either pick up the phone and speak to GDI who you've mentioned or be poached by the desperadoes, but in the end what is most important is you get want you want done. I'm sure your intelligent enough to take all the nonsense on board but still make the right choice for yourself.

ive asked this quiestion before and so i will ask again, does fred and ben pay for advertising on the site as my thread about HPI checks was removed because i had to pay an advertising fee , when i asked this question to a mod i got no reply
Just a couple of things to take into account, i know you all think im a pro GDI but im not ive not personally had any work done myself, ive spoken to fred about a number of things to my car and i shall make my own desicion where to take my car when the time comes.A few points that i have mulled over
Yozzasport - Fred is ALWAYS on the forum with 20,000+ posts i a couple of years, yes he offers a lot of advice but how the hell can they be doing any work at all when he is at the PC all day and also weekends.
There have been numerous threads about parrts not been delivered, etc etc also im my own experience customer service is poor as im still waiting for an invoice 4 months later despite sending my address numerous times.
BenR - Looks good imo , lot of time and effort gone into his products seems like a knowlageble chap however there is a lot of "talk" about products and not alot of actual stuff being released, its easy for me to say look ive developed this great new google widget valve its great (blind you with technical jargen and some flashy photos) and youll all think its great because most of you dont know anybetter, but untill we see actuall products how can we possibly judge. Also very slow in doing work
GDI- yes ok there has been some people on here who have had bad experiences.. or have there ok 1 guy has had a bad experience and a million people who havnt directly experienced his work jump on, if you throw enough s**t some of its going to stick, andy was more than willing to sort it all out but stoddie chose to take it somewhere else, alot of poeple have been very very happy with the work done there and only one person in my memory now.Developing new products all the time and are in production quickly.

Yeh, I'm just sifting through everything at the moment.
I'm off to Denmark for 2weeks at the start of July then when I'm back its party time with the 172!
I'm totally understanding the coilover/brakes option, however, I think that as it stands are fairly happy with what I've got. I only really need bigger brakes and better suspension once I've got my power to control.
If £1500ish gets me more power and smoother delivery across the full range then I'm happy. People say only 20bhp, but thats peak and doesn't take into consideration full gains across the whole range, with more torque too.
First things first though, panel filter and exhaust asap

Just as Freddy boy can advertise freely I can also give my opinion freely... like Gaz says, I really don't give 2 craps what people think of me on here, I dont come on to massage my ego and impress other members. So back on topic if Tom wants some advice mine would be to take it to Andy, I've had tuned cars and it's something I'm interested in. I'm not a tuner but I certainly know what works and what doesn't when it comes to tuning goodies despite what people think... so if he wants to go quick, as the league table shows GDI are the only place producing the goods... facts are undeniable, I'd ask the people that are giving advice on who's actually had what done Tom, as some people will go on about how amazing a company is because they stuck some oil in their car and installed a panel filter... whole different ball game, anyone can do that, so it's worth finding out from the people advising you what they have actually done... none of this, "well my mate reckons..." bullshit.

Ben is a one man font of knowledge - he has forgotten more about engines than I or many people will ever know!
If it sounds technical and jargon-y then it is - there's a science to a lot of what he does and he's the only man I've ever seen actually consider a lot of it in the work that he does.
He's certainly not an add-on specialist like you might find on a "Max Power" forum.
And if he's slow it's because he has a silly amount of work on - when I had my car serviced he was late arriving as he had already been to meet two Belgians, take off their still-hot engine heads, and transport them to his workshop ready for him to spend x amount of time hand-modding them when he'd finished with me.
And this was a saturday!
I agree that proof is good back up for quality of work done but for that we can only rely on the people who've had the work done to post up RR results and personal opinions etc - so get posting people!

re advertising, yes we have paid for advertising in the past, but i believe we're waiting on a previous invoice at the moment, so hence haven't renewed
taylor, as i said, with the amount of pm's and e-mails and phone calls we recive each and everyday, one of us HAS to be on the computer, next to the phones a lot of the time, if you were THAT desperate for a copy of Joe's invoice you could've called me to chase it up, i don't bite, i was sat waiting to send it last night, but i'm still awaiting you to confirm you're mileage to me (otherwise i can't send you out a copy of a previous invioce for a customer that WASN'T YOU unless its 100% verified with the correct info)

Anyone can fit a set of cams and badly map an engine. I had a bad experience with GDI. Initially I blindly thought the car was better after all I had just spent 3.5k at a reputable tuner.
Looking back the car was worse when it left then when it went in. I think stating this is only fair to other people and hopefully Andy has learnt from previous problems.
Ben used to work in the same building as Andy so on my visits to GDI I had a chance to speak to both Andy and Ben about future plans. I was never convinced that Andy was anything more then a garage mechanic (at that time). Ben on the other hand always gave more concise informative answers. I would ask Andy a question then go and ask Ben the same thing to get a better feel for who new what, Andy never gave me any confidence with his answers.
Ben certainly has lived up to his reputation for being slow. I am hoping he comes up with the goods and gives me the solution I am after.
I find it hard to **** off Andy and GDI on the forum but this is an honest opinion and I had spent ALOT of money and not been provided with a satisfactory service.
Andy has offered to sort it out but it is too late for me. I changed the map myself to resolve my idleing issues which Andy had assured me was not the problem.........
I am not his close mate and believe what he said.
Stoddie pm'd me before he went public on the forum and explained the situation.
I have never met stoddie or spoke to him in person but he seemed very annoyed by the whole thing, as you would be. I said he should post up his experience. Why should he keep quiet about it?

I think this is a very unfair comment. From what it says showing proof of a very decent company. GDI didnt tell this guy where to go but work with him very hard to attept to resolve the issue.
My situation with my car and the company who did the work after going back 3times simply told me to f*ck off!
GDI has however assisted me with 100% proof in my mind that what was done was totally incorrect and from that understanding i have decided that it should be them i choose to rectify my car.
I may also point out that mine will be the SECOND car they have rectified from this OTHER so called tuning company.
Proof is in the pudding when a company is willing to hold their hands up and admit mistakes.
For this i totally take my hat off to Andy&the guys @GDI

I will lock this thread if it desends into another GDI arguement as I think it has been done to death on this forum. I'm happy to let it go if it is honest opinions though - backed up with proof not hear-say (as has been discussed before in the past).

How many times have the tuners on here "tuned" a car and then "...offered to sort it out" afterwards, f**k that s**t, I pay £££'s I want it right first time, sound like cowboys to me, and I have seen a fair few of them.
