My mate has a mk 1 megane 1.6 16v and the engine is fubard. Would it be possible to put a 172 engine in it. If so what would be needed from the donor car. If it gonna be to much hassle then we will just drop another 1.6.16v in it

It has been done before mate yes, not sure what exactly was involved. There will be a project thread on it.

You'll need the entire wiring loom, ecu, coolant pipes & engine mounts, possibly the power steering pipes I'd have thought

The easiest way to do it would be to have the donor car right next to you when doing the conversion so you can just nick everything off it
