I just brought a new steering wheel off a scrap yard was fitted to a clio not sure what it was didnt have any engine size stickers and it wasnt a sport but had rear disks? anyway i took the steering wheel of it appears to be leather had the stitching etc but is it real leather do u know?

no i mean do renault use genuine leather as i hard some are look a like leather? as ive said it has the stitching etc/..

i know 1.6's come with rear discs, so it could be either ph2 1.6 or rsi, as for leather, i dont think mines leather cos its melted... typically french

its very similar to this altough only difference mine has the two cut off marks at the top where as this one only has them at the bottom.

my mate has 1.6 ph2 and his hasnt got rear disks?

could have been re-trimmed with leather...some people do this because of the melting steering wheel problems.

They started on either the 04 or 54 plates ones. My 53 plate 1.6 had drums as well. Going off the feel of the wheel on mine, it wasnt leather, but was stitched.

It was the Ph3 that got rear discs so 04 onwards generally.
