is it worth buying a 182 with 90K on the clock?

  Ford fiesta St + 182
I have been searching for a 172 or 182 for about 3 months and most of the 182's in my price range have 80-100k on the clock, is it worth it? for around 2000-2600

Yes, if its been serviced. I got mine with 134k on it and very little history, got it serviced and just stuck a new exhaust on it and its spot on. Though if you're struggling to afford 2.5k to buy the car, it might be worth asking yourself if you can afford the running costs/ repairs that are a pre-requisite to car ownership regardless of mileage......... Does it have to be a 182?? You might get a 172 or cup with more history for the same money. Cambelt history is one of the biggest things to have, as its a massive bill if it goes wrong (new engine).

Yes buy mine ;) 123k does the engine the world of good!! As long as the timing etc is up to date I wouldn't worry!

Ha ha a dealer has got it for sale for me, never got round to putting it up for sale, iv put a link in our section, I better not link I will get in trouble! :rasp: The listing is pretty basic so if anyone has any questions then feel free to send me a PM!

I really need to stop getting a new car before I sell my old one, ended up having the car before my 182 for nearly a year before selling it to my brother! Don't think at 18 he will be buying the 182 though lol

That one looks like mine but smarter!!!!! OP could do a hell of a lot worse, especially with it having had its belts done!!

i have heard the cups are more to insure? i am only young an insurance is a big worry(thats why i dnt have much to spend on the car) priced it on a 182 and 172 and the quotes wernt to bad.

172 cups are more as they dont have ABS but on the 182, its more of an options list rather than any major differences...... If I were you, id get the best, most well maintained, service historied car you can for your money, 172 or 182, theres not much difference between the two.....

Bought my current 182 on 109k and it's miles better than the one I had on 46k! Even the bodywork is in far better condition, the only way you can tell is the steering wheel (off to get re-furbed asap!)
