Is my gearbox ok lol

Ive noticed that my gearbox is abit dodgy lately,
When im changing down gears usually down to 2nd or 1st its really hard to get it in to the gear, i normally have to put a little more force on the gear lever, i have to attempt it twice to get it in and it feels quite ''cogy'' is the best way i can describe it but it only happens now and then, most of the time they just go into gear normally.
It happens the most when im coming to a stop at a junction and i slow down then put it into 1st to pull off that i find it hard to get it in to first but then other times it glides in nicely like its brand new :S
Just wanted to know if anyone else as had this and if its anything to worry about or if its just the normall clio gearbox after a few years use ?

Could be the Selecting plate ?? Or the clutch ?? Just a thought but i'd get it checked.. could be low on gearbox oil too...

I get this problem from time to time aswel. Sometimes the box feels lovely and smooth, other times 1st or 2nd can feel stiff, i get that weird problem sometimes when the cars rolling to a stop at a junction and i try and put it in 1st, suddenly feels stiff and notchy. I`ve just recently done a tranny oil change with 75/80 castrol too so i can only guess it might be clutch related or the shifter?? i know my mate used to have the problem with his escort and when he had a new clutch he says it fixed it. But why should the clutch make the gear shift stiff in 1st and 2nd ?? :/
