What type of modifactions would be needed for the exhaust to fit and would i benfit from having that exhaust on my car, is that the full exhaust ? Think i may need a new back box soon or some repair as i got a little rust on it.
What do you think a good price is to pay for just the bumper.
Thinking of upgrading my exhaust or exhaust and manifold if its not to expensive and if its realy worth doing.
whats a good price to pay for the exhaust and bumper. Sorry to be a pain with all the questions but i just want to make a nice clio. lol :boring:
Thanks again Doj

as you have a 1.2, the exahsut pipe will be a smaller bore size, therefore to make this fit onto the 2L exhaust pipe it will just need to be enlareged, sounds like a hard job but any exhaust place can do it, as iv had it done myself before.

Theres no point upgrading the manifold on the 1.2 because it doesnt even look like a manifold you would kno as, its crap lol,

The bumper can go from anywhere up to about 120quid,

as said before, this bumper will fit (with some very minor modifications)

as for the exhaust, the pipe diameter on your clio will need a sleeve over it to make it wider, then the exhaust will fit straight on.

that exhaust is just a back box, no performance gain, just noise,
no point at all changing a manifold as the performance gain will be so slight you may well not notice it!

and finally, a mint 172 bumper (the one on the ebay link) will go for up to 120, but that ones got a whopping great hole out of it, so with the exhaust i wouldnt part with more than £70 for it tbh.

good luck dude.

Really like your clio grande u popped in my other post "clio142"

Will the exhaust decrease performance.

thanks dude :D

tbh mate, wouldnt be able to say on what kind of noise it'll make, different exhausts are made differently with different designed and thickness of baffles, so nearly every exhaust will have a unique noise.

however no it wont decrease the performance, but wont increase it either, will simply make more noise.

Thanks for all your help everyone, Well pleased, Won the bid for bumper and exhaust at a really good price. What type of minor modifications will be needed to bumper. Dont like that square cut in the bumper so i have to try and tidy that up some way

erm, if its got the inserts it should be easy, youll have to take out the plastic impact absorbers from the clio (they may be attached to the bumper) and have the foam ones.

also your current weather guards will have to go as they wont fit, youll need some 172 arches to fit properly,

but as for mods, if you open your boot, there is 4 holes holding the bumper on, these holes already have threads in them for the screws, however, between the first and second hole (and the 3rd and 4th) there will be extra holes, similar to the other 4 but without threads. annoyingly these are the holes the 172 bumper lines up to lol. also unless you very good with a magnet your stuck, also the way the chasis is designed, you can get a nut behind it to screw the bumper screws into.

what i ended up doing was taking off the seal, and jently bending the thin metal back from the hole until i could fit a nut behind it, (take the screw to a DIY shop and get a couple of small nuts to fit) screwed the bumper on, and bent the metal back, if the paint cracks put some hammerite on it (its underneith the boot seal so no1 will see it) and bobs your uncle, there will also be a bolt into the rear quatre that lines up easy, and two bolts under the car, that i didnt have and bolts for on my ph1, but once again the holes were there, so i stuck a nut and bolt in there too :D

as for the cut out, youll be best off filling the cut out so its very neat, and get an exhaust surround similar to the 182's, the exhaust should fill the hole so itll look dandy!

good luck mate. hope this helps.

edit.... just read the link, £30!! thats a steal mate!

Thanks “clio 142” for you help.
Got the inserts
Ill get the bumper and exhaust fitted as i can see what’s happening. Then ill take the bumper off and sort it out as i got to spray and tidy it all up.
Well hope all goes well as i never done anything like this with cars, but i got a few hammers and screw drivers lying about.
Couldn’t find a pic of the 182 exhaust surround to see what you’re saying!
I am a bit worried about the exhaust being loud, is there anything i could do to keep the noise down if i don’t like it, or is there anything i can do before it gets fitted. Or should i start a new thread in Engine, Gearbox, Exhausts & Running Gear
