is this a standard 172 cat or sports cat?

its years since ive been under a ph2 172 but im sure this looks different to what I remember and it seems to have a little plaque tack welded onto it but I cant see if it says anything due to the angle.

I know its not a silenced decat as it passed an mot no problem (after a lambda sensor!!)

Looks closer to the Ktec 200 cell sport cat (although that's not welded)

Its not a standard 172 cat.

So is either a sports cat, or a silenced decat. (probably the former as the latter normally have perpendicular edges but thats not a guarentee)

I assume a silenced decat would never go thru an mot like this did though? as I tried to mot a decatted 172 a few years ago to chance my luck and it was no where near

looks like ive got a sports cat then! im sure ive saw a manufacturer who puts plaques on their exhausts and I cant remember who it was, im sure it wasn't ktec/janspeed though. possibly scorpion?

If it passed emissions properly then it must be a sports cat

yeah passed no problem but failed on lambda reading so changed the sensor.

Sports cat. My decat threw the co right over the limit. That and it looks identical to a sports cat Dave has.

cool beans, bonus that then! I think someone has spent some good cash on this at some point but more recently its fell into the wrong hands and been abused, its been run low on oil at some point so I had to change an engine on it about a month before I bought it off the guy!
