just rung up long life to price a decat for my 172 and they told me that if they done a decat for me, because of the 2 lambda sensors each side it would cause the car to over fuel and she also said something about starving the engine of oil? surely a decat cant cause the engine to be starved of oil? but would it cause it to over fuel?

MOT's wont be a problem, i know a guy who does MOT's and he does all my cars for my which havnt got cats

Some 172/182s will throw up a warning light on your dashboard, but sometimes you are lucky and they don't.

With mots you can always put the cat back in fairly easily so it can go through an mot anywhere, unless you know a friendly mot tester who is willing to look the other way to get it through the emissions test.

Won't overfuel. The emissions light on the dash may come on. Oil thing is HILARIOUS.

It took like a month before the engine management light came up on mine so it probably will show up eventually but it hasn't caused any changes in fuel consumption or any problems with oil lol.

The lamdba sensor on a normal cat i always placed before the cat, and they dont die easily. So it wont make any difference.

The 1st lambda control the closed loop fueling, the 2nd is basically a check to see if the cat is still working.

The oil thing as has been said is total and utter cods....

your toxic emission light "may" come on but it means your cat is not working.... (but you know that as its not there)

it wont effect the fueling, economy or drive at all, and will have no other effect on sensors at all

Take it somewhere that has a clue what they're on about. Prospeed is probably closest to you, they get very good reviews on here.

i have a ktec decat in mine i love it mainly the smell probably shouldnt sit at the traffic lights smelling it. if anything it might make the car run lean but that is what has been found on other cars dunno bout clios i did nt find a power difference tho :-( get it mapped. if u fit it yourself it takes two of u
