Is this the fuel rail guard?

I had to remove this to fit my BMC CDA and it wont fit back on now its fitted,

The picture is not of my engine bay as my digi cam is nack. Although I do have a 182.

No mate the fuel rail gaurd is sat at the very front of the engine directly in front of your engine cover, in the centre of the engine bay.

The part which you had to remove is the ECU Bracket which holds the ECU in place, be very carefull when refitting it as they have a tendency to snap.

yup. it's protected in case you have a front ender, dont want fuel leaking in the event of an accident!

Cups never came with the fuel rail cover did they? so they cant be too important

Should be easy enough to fit the bar. Just slots in and bolts up at the ecu point and bolts straight up near the front slam

Cups have the fuel rail guard and yes its important!
