clutch might need adjusting (tightening/slackening), its easy to do on some cars but i'v never done it on a clio.

Seen loads of people say don't do it, i personally always wait till 2nd for any hard acceleration.

Really, I've never noticed people saying that.

Thing is, if you don't floor it in 1st, doesn't it take a while for the power to come in 2nd, making 0-60 times meaningless?

I've always floored my cars in 1st. I coud just be lucky tho. I hope its not the case or I'm going to take it easy in 1st lol

Boxes are made of chocolate!

If the box don't lunch itself the diff will:mad:

Damage is already done if its grinding. Changing gear like TF&F will kill a JC5 box in no time. Reason people are looking at you like you can't drive your car is because you can't :rasp:.

Its nothing to do with the clutch, its rushing the box which doesn't like to be rushed and will just give up eventually.
