finally picked up my 182 last night, really nice car generally and goes like an absolute b*sturd! i can picture my first 3 points around the corner.
never had traction control and its kicked in a couple of times which felt odd at first but better keep it turned on for now! loads of toys and im still trying to get to grips with most of them.

weather is sheet at the mo so it keeps spinning up beyond 5k rpm in 2nd. as soon as its dry im off on a country road blast.

first thoughts on the mod front are that it needs an induction kit.

induction kit does free up a bit, mixed reviews on them on here do a search for simota, viper and maxogen

i would seriously consider a yozzasport or K tec exhaust, frees up the engine nicely and the standard one is pretty pisch

oh and if your getting an induction kit, get an itg maxogen, no point getting just a cone filter. warm air = power loss.
i would opt for standard air box, with an itg pannel filter, and remove the acoustic valve for a bit of induction noise

Lol - in nearly 2 years of ownership, i have only ever had the TC cut in twice and that was when i was testing to see if it worked on and empty road in the ice/snow last year.

Yes it does, but i can control the wheelspin with better feet control quicker than the TC can cut in, hence why i said i tested it in the ice/snow, i have pulled out of junctions quite quickly before and spun a wheel but the TC did not cut in, i controlled it with my right foot.

Either the TC in my car is not aggressive enough in it's operation or i have a fault, i would like to know how quickly the 182 TC should cut it, the TC in the articulated HGV i drive is very quick in it's operation, i can just start to feel a wheel start to spin(at this point in any other HGV i would be backing off the power), then the power goes and the ESP/TC light flickers on(tested on a quiet straight stretch of DC).

nice one chris thanks for posting them vids. i do intend to get the induction and exhaust sorted over time when moneys ok, but it is christmas coming up haha. you must have noticed a good performance hike with those mods?
one thing i have noticed is when even one passenger is in the car it just isnt as quick lol.

IMO, depending on the ability of the two drivers and what kind of roads you're on, other cars you could either win or lose against are:

Civic/Integra Type-R
Fiesta ST
Mini Cooper S
Mazda RX-8
BMW 330
Astra VXR
Impreza WRX
Audi TT

For straightline speed, the cooper S is the closest match. ...and in terms of handling too in fact.
