ITB's + ???

Car  ITB BG 182
When getting and ITB kit is there anything else that might be worth getting with or for them?
Ive already been told about an oil catch tank.

Depends how far you want to go and how much money you want to spend.

Small alloy radiator, oil catch tank, different throttle cable (not sure what KTR use atm)

Cams, forged internals........list could be massive.

As for the "Wise" option, Fit it yourself then you will learn what is what and what to do if it goes wrong. They are easy to fit.

Bazzon

we use a genuine Renault one as it has proved to have the least stickton.

John has told us on many occasions, spannering is not his bag.

Rad doesnt affect the new kit so much as the inlet angle is different.

Andy

FYI, the inlet temps on the dyno are circa 35 degrees very close to the head. Which is low.

Hey if you want to give me a lesson or two in your work shop when fitting this kit to my car i am happy to bring along the cream cakes too.

Like in my previous post, Alloy rad is something i would consider (we have the old kit)

But if Andy says the new kit has improved the space, so the stock rad doesnt need to be pulled forward as much you will be fine. The new kit did look like it had improved a fair amount over the kit we have when i saw it at autosport.

dont waste ur money on cat 428's. I had them and the Gains are so minimal its not worth the cost
Go for more agressive ones if ur gonna do it but will need new pistons for clearance i believe

Ive been told to go for some thing like the 421's and then to look at stuff like the bottom end.
Still slightly unsure if i will buy cams this month as i might get some V2's or AST's as my car sits high even with me in it.

428s are fairly worthless with ITB's you're better off saving your pennies there and go with what you've been told.

Out of interest, how much are the AST's you are looking at?
I think they are about 1400 for ast's but v2's are around 1100 and v2's get alot of good reviews on here.
Ill see what they say at the end of the month because one way or another i will be doing a GB on one or the other.
Just waiting on emails back from both KW and AST.

Saltyhair, the price difference between the 428 and 421's are not alot.
Just happy that i finally am getting some ITB's and my neighbours will love me.

Mine hate me. lol There is nothing in it price wise between the two just be sure to got for 421s

Well my car only has an induction kit and back box's not even decatted at the moment and they moan at me for it being too noisey. God help them on the afternoon of the 28th.
Anyone up for a BBQ at my house in the summer?

Yea i will be going for the 421s and anything else that Obe One (Andy) recommends me to get.

not too bad then really.

When you email kw you should ask for a price on the clubsport stuff.
Price wise i'd expect it to be similar to the ast's but it's based on the kw competition kit.

Anyway so people have aggreed that 421's are the better option in cams and some have said an oil catch tank would be good but i cant make my mind up about them just yet as i dont know if i will see the whole benefits from it.
Owt else before i start on the internals that might be good to get to go with the ITB's

Uprated engine mounts, Some Samco hoses(to make it look cool), those cool looking HT leads

Ive already got all the engine mount, gearbox mount, dog bone, and some powerflex bits done by them when it was serviced. Are 'cool' looking hoses and ht leads going to do any better for either the engine or car though rather than looks?

I think I remember burp having trouble with fuel starvation, so if you're tracking it, a swirl tank could be worth looking at.

Gerrards is a really long right hander, so all the fuel gets pushed to the one side of the tank, away from the fuel pump

Yeh, but yours a a PH-1 therefore > 182 ;)
I dont follow :S

Anyway its got a Cup engine in it :rasp:

Don't forget ours is running 198bhp on 95ron completely standard internals and cam's.

Was a nightmare. I had half a tank, every lap it was getting worse

No ours is a Cup engine on 80k and not touched apart from a cambelt and oil change.Just saying that you do not have to go down the road of rebuilding with cams, pistons, forged this and forged that to get decent results.Any engine can "blow" so keep it cheap and simple.

I wont be going cheap, i mainly want to get the bodies on and done as i think thats one of the biggest parts specially with the ECU aswell.

Your not making sense now,or did that just come out wrong?

What I mean by cheap,IS bodies and ecu and nothing else.
