ITG Panel never needs to be cleaned?

  172 cup
So I've been looking for a new filter and came across this statement on K-Tec racing's website:

"For many years now ITG have been at the forefront of air filter technology. They supply many F1 and rally teams with their filters and this knowledge learnt from the pinacle of motosport has been used to make their filters for road going cars. These replacement elements are made from a Tri Foam system which give superb filtering along with high air flow. The filter also never needs to be cleaned thanks to its unique design."

After reading this statement I wondered why there were so many post on this forum asking about cleaning/oiling filters (even ITGs). Is the statement on K Tec racing's website a fasle statement? Or is it fact that ITG panel filters NEVER need cleaning?

  Not got a car
Yeah its true, but its also says they recommend you to clean it at intervals like any other aftermaket filter.

Stick with K&N or Green
