Am I correct in thinking you can get these little devices that allow you to play your Ipod through your factory HU?

Im not overly keen on ripping out half my dash on the new motor!

Any idea's on which one to get as I really don't have a clue!

You can probably just a cable that links to your glovebox. Far better.

Its an expensive FM Transmitter, look around there are some good ones such as docks which charge at the same time etc, Also kills quality

To get access to my stereo, I have to essentially remove the entire centre console, which I really don't want to do!

I hated the FM transmitter I had (a while ago now mind). Sound quality was crap and sometimes finding an empty frequency to tune into was a PITA. It might be a fair bit of work, but hardwiring is definitely the way to go.

I had an iTrip and it was sound. Used to stick my iPod in the dash recess above the stereo and never got any interference. Well worth the £8 or whatever it was that I paid for it.
