Will it work if both laptops are windows? So i can change the track on one laptop ( cnected to speackers) by using another? THanks for your help buddy

A blue tooth remote is probably the easiest way to go TBH.

I dont think that the sounds come out of the speakers if you use RDP. Something like "Tight VNC" would work too though.

If you have XP Pro use "remote desktop connection".

I would get an Airport Express, rip losslessly, output digitally into a DAC.

FTW

Using two laptops is overkill and it's potentially worse-sounding because a) the digital to analogue conversion at the point of the headphone socket will be poor and b) if you're using Windows XP then the Kmixer will be resampling the audio.

An Airport Express is a little gadget that receives music over WiFi and outputs it into via mini Toslink or via a little headphone socket.

The output was tested by Stereophile magazine and said to be "bit perfect":

I made a little video about this stuff:

There are more advanced ways to do this too, such as with a Squeezebox Duet:

Or Sonos:

And now I've started to use iPod Touch Remote App, and am writing up my findings:

You need higher BPM music, cancels out the effect. ;) :p

set up a logmein account on both pc's https://secure.logmein.com/home.asp?originid=978&utpk=logmein&lang=en, this will allow you to remotely control a pc free.. if you want to access/transfer the files from one pc to another, set up a secure network with adequate firewall and a workgroup and share the folders/printers you require (right click on a folder, share.. 'Everyone' permissions.. 'Owner' - Vista, slightly different on xp but you get the idea). You can share your whole hard drive, but only do this if you feel its really necessary
