ive lost everything

my laptop needed rebooting so i did it using the info given on the laptop.

it stated that i could obtain all my files once the reboot was complete.

im unable to locate any of my pics or music on my computer, so have they gone completely or can i find them from somewhere

What did you actually do before the reboot?

Oh, and have a look in C:\Documents & Settings\ if it's XP or C:\Users if it's Vista to see if anything is in there.

I did this to mine yesterday. The old files were saved in a folder called Windows.old

started it up and it said NTDLR missing so i rebooted it using the programme microsoft recommended, and no everythig has gone all my favourites everything, its just like i bought it brand new.

I realise this isnt going to help your situation... but..

If there was stuff on your laptop that was so important why no backups ?

It is backup, theres just no personal data any more

Add your profile to your backup routine in future

still cant find my pics - so now on im gonna back everything up
