Jacking point repair? Beyond bending back....

Warning - Levels of Laziness and r****d are off the scale in this post

My front Jacking point failed spectacularly bending under the car and forcing the side skirt out whilst jacking it up to get clearance for the trolley jack :( the Jack bent as well.... must be made of French cheese like the jacking points... Oh and to top it off before I jacked the car up when undoing the wheel bolts:

It's been a bad day....

I'm presuming that a Bodyshop would be able to fix it up for me and weld in a new point or at the very least get it looking decent again rather than it looking like someone has taken a hammer and a tin opener to it? It's well beyond just being a case of bending it back... I should have known better than to use the Renault supplied bits, and got some blocks out to drive on to rather than using the jack to lift it a bit so the trolley jack could fit under the car.

So now I have to try and work out how to get the skirt sitting flush again :(

Was bad timing as just as it happened the neighbours pulled up just as I was having a hissy fit and calling the car a c**t.

How badly bent is the jacking point on sill? A garage near me completely flattened mine when they failed spectacularly with a jack and I managed to bend mine back with a pair of grips.

Bent enough it's popped the skirt out so I have to work out how to get it flush again.

Going to have to get it on my ramps tomorrow and try to tidy it up a bit, at the very least get some zinc spray in the area of damage to prevent rust.

I'm going to get the hammer and pliers out and see what I can do.

Proper pain having a low car, need to find a decent jack to replace the s**t Renault one, I think I've a BMW one in the garage so may look to see if that's any good.

Got to get a brace as well now so trip to Halfrauds tomorrow.

Mine looks like that all the way down on both sides tbqfh

Someone (can't remember username but has a mitsubishi colt thing) mentioned a body shop welding in new plates on both sides all the way down for circa £80

edit:

With the sills my last clios one were a hell of a lot worst than that, went to jack it and the jack just went straight up through the sill because of the rot on there! Got both sides welded the full length of the car for £80, looked loads better afterwards too!

Not a bad idea, I have some bodywork I want doing so may get it priced at the same time.
