No worries mate have no idea were nuneaton is but if its close enough to South East Kent My PH1 is currently on a performance damper and apex spring set up if u wanted to see how harsh the ride was
It's about three hours away so not really close enough.
I've posted a wanted ad for some used sportlines. If none come up soon I think I'm just gonna have to stick some OE rear springs on for now. Mega skint ATM. Lol
If you can't get a set of eibachs I've got a set of genuine renault rear springs I'm selling. They came off my '03 172 when I upgraded to sportlines and have done just over 53k miles.
My dads running Jamex springs and damper kit on his Mk2 Ph1 RSi 1.6 16v and they ride really nice. was massively impressed with the comfort when driving normally, but once you push on there is still a bit of body roll but then firms up as they're progressive springs.
Not as stiff as the eibachs, But I toook them off my 182 after a year as I thought the ride was crashy.
Decided to stick with OE for now until I start getting commission at work.
They gonna throw a big wad of cash at the car... coilovers, solid mounts... turinis... and get rid of my horrid exhaust... I dunno... just gonna buy half of K-tec I think! lol
jamex are terrible, fitted some to a 1.2 16v corsa C for a boy a few years back and they were horse s**t.
slammed the back about 60mm and didnt lower the front (these were 40mm springs) the rear springs had about 10 coils, 8 of which just sat against each other when the car was sitting on the deck with no one in it, put a person in the back and all 10 coils just binded and their was no suspension travel ?!?!
surely there was a problem with the springs then, meaning providing the springs aren't faulty they're not going to be terrible? did you take them back and get another set?
Thats not a personal attack but sometimes parts are faulty, I could slate Goodridge brakelines as on inpsection they looked fine, fitted them and the wire weave was faulty and expanded under pressure more than standard hoses. replacement set was fine, as with other Jamex springs I've seen fitted.
