Jamie's Clio 182 cup

Hi all new to the forum brought a Clio 182 cup last weekend as I have all ways wanted one since my first little 2002 1.2 Clio when I was 17 [emoji3] got this Clio in racing blue as the miss also likes this colour.
It's well to low and hard for us atm I am planning on putting the car back to standard as to be honest there don't really need to be modded.
Also has I think a 4-1 manifold with decat straight through to the big back boxes.

So last week when checking the paper work I notice the last Cambelt was changed at 45k she has now done 111k so I didn't chance driving it much and had the lot done at a Renault specialist in Gloucester was a big bill couldn't believe how much it cost really lol this is my bill

Do you think there I got done over here.

So my plans are to change the springs back to normal cup springs if anyone on here has a set for sale please let me no I am also after
Set of standard 182 wheels as I don't like the ones on there atm.
Clio sport seats as mine are not sport seats for some reason.
And 182 rear back boxes will trade for mine if anyone's interested.

It was only the cups and trophys that didn't have the half leather seats. Recaro Trendlines are what came in trophys and was an option on 182's from april or may 2005.

Welcome to the forum. The trophy recaros tend to go for ~£700+ and do pop up on here occasionally. If you pay to be a club member you'll be able to browse the for sale sections and set up alerts for when new items for sale are posted. It's well worth it for access to all the guides etc as well!

Car is a nice colour btw :wink:Standard wheels, grills and fogs will have it looking much tidier! I don't actually mind the exhaust. In all honesty you'll probably struggle to find a standard one in good condition to swap with. They tend to corrode and the majority of people replace them with aftermarket SS ones. If you really don't like yours there are lots of other options available though.

Finally, replacement of the belts and dephaser is a ~£600 job so you haven't been done over. The reason you had trouble finding somebody to do it is because "normal" garages that don't have the correct cam locking tool often get the timing wrong - hence you're better off going to a specialist.

Good choice of car! Not much else you can you get with such performance for the price. Mine is a cup too but one previous owner replaced the cloth seats with the half leather ones. I like the seats but I may actually put some cloth seats back in just to make it standard one day. Your paintwork looks tidy.

Recaros are a waste of money, spend it on getting the car upto scratch.

If its just rears your swapping

Undo bottom shock bolts 17mm iirc
Then force the beam down and work the spring out

Its that simple lol

Got a set of team dynamics like brand new for £190 with new tyres on just don't like the red ring around it but I can sort that out the car looks much better without the blue wheels on. Only down side is the tyre size 195/55/16 car is low so front wheels rub [emoji86] so need to get chopping or buy 40 profile tyres maybe even 35 just to be safe lol.

What profile are there 40? Look better than my massive 55 lol just about to take the wheels back off and try and do a deal with the tyre bloke for smaller profile tyres.[emoji3]

Yh it does thanks don't like the blue alloys lol I wanted standard 182 wheels but trying to find a good set on a tight budget not going to work [emoji20] so these will do for now got a good deal for 190 I think

Just found some pics of my old Clio 1.2 my first car bk in 2007. god it needed lowering slightly lol never had a problem with it wonder if it still alive.
Was standard when I first got it. Decated it with full system just rear silencer popped very well more than my 182 now hardly ever get the 182 to pop [emoji20]

Looking better mate, I would get some white turinis or standard anth cup wheels, and a standard top grill.
