Jammed Hydraulic Lifter

Car  Ex-172 owner. Now a Mini!
Does anyone who's mechanically minded know if a jammed hydraulic lifter is a major problem or hard to sort? My Focus has developed a suspected jammed lifter and is booked in to the garage. Is it a big job? is it expensive and does it normally damage anything else?

Thanks for any input...

IF it's that, it's cambelt off, cams out, track down which one it is (easier said than done) replace the faulty part, check for any wear on the cams that could have happened, and re-assemble. It's a medium sized job, probably 4-5 hours at a guess
