JC5 129 Circlip issue

So I’ve got the standard issue of the gearbox popping the circlip. I put a new one and a new spacer in on Saturday and 60 miles later it’s gone again. I’m having a gearbox built with the issue taken care of but I just wondered in the mean time if it would be safe to weld the circlip in place? Obviously I know it’s not the best idea, but I need a working car until the new box is built!

Yeah it is a lot of people have done it or you can buy a bolt in fix for it

I’m having the bolt in option on my new gearbox but this one is just to tide me over until it’s finished! So a few spot welds should help.
