Just noicted they are (Jenvey Dynamics.) based where i live in bridgnorth small world!

Anyway what are there ...

Manifolds
Throttle bodies + links
Fuel rails

like? just want ur views! :p


Cause, was thinking maybe i should just get these + omex chip... I know that i can get the throttle bodies setup by a friend from the renault F1 team for £250 :>

so roughly 1k for a TB kit, your mate fits it, and you get the engine management set up 250 quid, what are you waiting for!!!

i would of though the bodies would be about 700 then about 1k for the fabricationa nd 1 k for setup and ecu etc?
 
An OMEX is £600 which is a standalone ECU and nees a different loom installing to the various engine sensors.

I thought the hardware for the kit was about 1k not sure though.

Lucky runs a jenvey setup on his car I think they are considered to be good quality.

If your car isnt a ph1 172 then you need a cable throttle pedal.

On a standard engine from what I have heard I doubt whether you will make 200bhp.

Nobody's denying that, but no-one else has had the conversion on a standard 172. I'd estimate more like 205 on an average std car.
 
To put it in perspective -

Luckys car runs only 10bhp more with 182 manifold and cams.

If you put TBs on a standard 182 engine would that mean you made 222bhp?

The 212bhp figure seem a bit optimistic IMO.

What you getting and how much they gonna charge?

Isn't there some custom Jag restoration famous place up on Stanmore that David Beckham bought a car from...?

Not sure if it was him but it was someone famous!

Jenvey and QED are the 2 main body companies in the Uk id say very much of a likeness between them!

The bodies themselves with the manifold, fuel rail, etc im sure is about £1000, youre then looking at £750-£1000 for engine management, (emerald, dta, Omex etc)

This is the route I would go if i was looking to tune my 172 beyond 200bhp in the near future!

Not getting nothing yet, just a friend told me to buy them from there an then he would fit them..... :) lo :) me soo poor

fitting is not that hard

its the engine management you need, you will need a few sensors as well, TPS blah de blah for the engine management.
The management should then just plug in to this loom and away you go.

Car will then need mapping, probably half - a days work
on the rollers or live mapping in the car on a road
 
GDI's the place to go for mapping.

I'm going back there next week hopefully if Andy will have me.

You're going to have to get something eventually Tom to keep up with me.

Lol, im miles behind you :) I dont think i will catch up, cause i aint got lots of money... got holidays to go on etc! n spending 2 much on going out atm, spent £400 last week rofl :| not good stuff!

Maybe when im 21 ;) :p but aint in competition wit ur car :) both r cars r good :)

This summer holidays will be my next main step...

oh an the 0.3 seconds that mine is faster. wow.... lol no difference wat so ever in my view.. ur prob a bit faster cause u got all them mods :)

but i prefer looks of cup :) but i do like ur alloys

Asking a mate to see how cheap he can get Throttle Bodies for :) (works teh)

its easier to fit the kit to a cup than one with air con..

the omex is the harder part to fit as it needs wiring loom mods and mapping

also the BHP figure does not tell the whole storey....

its the power delivery thats soooo different....

Well u know me i change my mind like the wind ;)

prob go for SMT6 instead of omex, if i ever get it done.. wana see how much my mate wants for set :p

SMT for TB?? hope you did not mean that... as you cant....

SMT cant do nearly as much as the omex..
