Jerky acceleration

When in traffic I find it difficult to drive smoothly as my accelerator is really jerky, I have disconected the cable and checked it and it is tottally free.I also checked the pedal which was ok. I sprayed some grease on the throttle body where all the springs are but this didnt make a difference. Im reluctant to start taking it appart as Ive no idea how to reset it.

Any ideas?

What about your clutch cable?

i had this problem when i first got my motor and had both cables replaced and it was much easier to drive.

No its not the cable as I took it off at one end and there was no resistance at all. I think the problem lies in the throttle body but Ive heard of people fiddling with it and not being able to get it idling smoothly again-deffinatly dont want that!

If u mean u have a notchy accelerator pedal, then it is SO simple to fix if it is the same reason for mine being notchy anyway.

Underneath ur engine bay silver heat shield covering the bulk head is a bracket which covers ur pedal cables. This bracket had endented the rubber cable cover which caused the cable an obstruction from moving freely. 2 or 3 bolts i think. Just take it off. ;)
