I didn't know they made an induction kit! Thought they just stickered up a renault airbox and added a bought in silicone bend?

What comprises a kit? A selection of parts to allow fitment to a specific instalation?

I sell cam kits....I dont make cams.

  2005 Nissan Navara
My custom spec ones I could advertise as such....

Theres plenty of examples of companies selling branded kits...
How many places sell "companies name" brake kits, comprising wilwood calipers and brembo discs? Or PAS removal kits using renault parts.

People obviously like having the option of going to one place and buying a selection of parts in kit form i.e a renault airfilter housing, bought in silicone bend etc as a kit, rather than measuring up, researching, going to a few different suppliers.

Obviously not everyone does, but alot do :p

Thanks for the info guys.

Wanted to know how it compares to the other main induction kits.

Its £208 fiteed which seems like an ok price

How much fitted? Mate you'd be mental not to fit it yourself, comes with instructions and tbh it couldnt be easier, £148 posted IIRC, and then a screw driver and you're done. Take a maximum or 25 mins if you've never done anything like that before, or if you have more like 10 minutes.

Its a very good kit, and as for the whole "haven't they just added components together" yes essentially they have, but they have extensively tested a range of IK options for the 172/182 engine, and have produced a product which gets the best results from the engine.

Tbh I don't care what it is/where it comes from if it works.

Remember you're not just paying for the products here, the testing itself would have cost JMS £££ and they've got to re-coup that cost somewhere.

I've had it fitted to my ph1 for around 3 weeks now, and I can't fault it.

Robbos did you buy the whole kit or just parts of it, was gonna keep my ph1 housing thought they were quite similar to the V6 one

Hi, thanks for your advice. Where can i order an IIRC from?

Thanks

LOL! IIRC means "If I recall Correctly" That's the price ordered direct from JMS, the price posted for the "road kit" the race its another £20 or so I think (this comes with an extra race filter)

If you live local to JMS I'm sure you can go pick one up a bit cheaper as it'd be no postage. If you become a full member on here you'll be able to view the JMS traders section where you can see all their products, joining up is well worth the money.

  330i. E30 Touring.
IIRC stands for 'if i remember correctly', lol.

PM Jamesstone or email the boys and they'll sort it all out for you.

Fitted the whole kit mate, the v6 box is bigger and gives the best results aparently. Plus to one large airfeed from the big gap right next to the battery is ideal.

:)

If anyone at a meet soon wants to try it out etc, feel free.

You got any pics of it fitted? As in whole engine bay pic as the JMS one only shows the IK.
Just want to see how it looks.

I have a bloody awful pic of it fitted, (light was fading and I only had an iphone...)

I think JMS said something about being able to get a coloured elbow for an extra tenner if thats your thing, personally I like how it looks quite OEM.

And please excuse the state of my engine bay, that'll be sorted soon enough.

Have you got the elbow fully attached to the housing in that pic Rob - did you order a elbow or was it housing only?

This is the best pic I have too hand of it in the engine, there are a couple of other shots from different peoples cars floating around on here somewhere..

As per usual if anyone has any questions just fire me a PM and I will get back to you ASAP :)

Yes and no Tom, see my PM, lol!

Tom's picture is a much better indication of how it fits, and mine shows how it kinda looks in the bay, I think that pic is the worst one I've ever taken tbh.

Oh and the breather isn't supposed to be sitting there, its was just there as I took the picture before it got toally dark.

P.s what is the plenum and fuel rail guard painted with in that pic? Just how I want mine.

I have a very loud exhaust, so answering this isnt easy for me tbh, but I had a BMC CDA before, which you could not hear at all over the exhaust, and with this, when really giving it some at top end I can definately hear it.

I believe that JMS setup is pretty much as quiet as standard with normal driving, but when you really floor it you do get quite some noise :)

Mine sounds exactly the same at normal speeds, but thats becaus I can't hear a damn thing over my exhaust, at high revs though my engine now has a mean growl:evil:

Look at my video, second post in this topic. I also have few more videos on my chanell. My exhaust is stock so all the roar you hear in video is induction music. Like they said, it sounds nice when you floor it.

Are the jms kit and v6 boxes completely different or are they similar? Just wondering if its worth the extra for the jms kit over a v6 box from a scrappy?

There espace v6 and JMS are exactly the same, if you can find one from the scrappy cheap then do it, I couldn't find one.
