joomla help

I've created a website and I would like a couple of aspects to be updated via a cms, namely joomla. I have downloaded joomla and installed everything, however, does anyone have any tutorials on how to use your own site and incorporate the cms aspect of joomla?
I've searched on the joomla forum but cant find anything!

i've done a search on there but cant seem to find anything on using your own site, also seen other people asking the same!
