Jump Starter Battery Exploded (Photo)

A good friend sent me this photo last night of his mini jump starter battery - the learning point is that if you buy a small 'Jump Start' battery pack then make sure it has polarity protection. The battery exploded and was then fizzing and smoking for about half an hour .... nobody hurt

Id remove the grass first as that would be asking for trouble.

No - its a Porsche one - comes as a standard pack on the Porsche Cayman PDK.

The grass is from where he threw it over the hedge .... leaving a trail of smoke

Ahh right, it looked like this one i have.

Just read that mine does have reverse polarity protection

I'd probably be getting in touch with Porsche. No way would they be happy with something they provide to customers doing that!

Why is a Porsche coming with a jump start pack? I always assumed a jump start pack was for crap cars that won't start?
