Jump Starting with a Race Battery?

  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
Martin,

if you are relocating your battery, you are likely to be using something like in the picture below.
if you need to jump start the car, you can simply connect the live jump lead to these terminals, and the earth lead to any earth point in the engine bay.

You should never let these run down, they don't like it.

I keep the race car topped up with one of those solar panel things from Maplins, £12.00, comes with a nice long lead.

Good shout, didn't think of suggesting this to Martin.
i utilise my cut off switch when the car isn't in use.

All understood cheers :)

I'm planning on running a cut off like you anyway Kelv so it shouldn't run down.

Will look into the solar panel thingy too thanks Tony.

The solar panel trickle chargers are a handy bit of kit, I used to use one ony old jeep tow car.It was only used once a month and all to often when I went back to use it there would only be just enough power to unlock it to get in, the trickle charger just sat in the windscreen and could be connected either to the 12v socket or crocodile clips onto the battery.
from that day on I had no more dead battery's.

To add: it won't charge a battery, but if it is already charged it has just enough to trickle in to it to keep it topped up when its sat unused.
With your clio sat on the driveway it will be ideal for you ;)
