I didnt have time to apply the 'Megs Stage 3' carnauba Wax, was gonna do it today but its raining:mad: The great thing about it is when the rain off yesterday dried it didnt leave any marks whatsoever so a quick clean before applying the seal shouldnt be a problem!

Cheers for the comments

Lovely, be good to see a 'before' pic to see how much effect the clay's had, I'm kind of giving up on clay at the moment...

How come your giving up? I have said on here a few times that I have never seen it do anything for shine, it is the way it makes your paint feel.

I've only had my 172 since Sept, so have only properly used clay on my previous Fiesta, which wasn't the greatest quality paintwork (albeit amazing for a 10 year old car!). I don't think I've seen clay work magic on an already decent surface, so maybe I'll get a new bar and try again in a few weeks. I did find that you need to get the balance of 'lube' to clay just right, because it'll smear and leave white, or just rub straight across the bug/tar/badger and not grip it...

I'd appreciate it if you could offer your PC services around the same time Rich as well if possible? Are you planning on doing some before FCS?

I use car shampoo and water in a spray bottle that way you can really load some on the panel without the worry of only having some expensive quick detailer to use. The clay should glide freely but still grip. Make sure the clay is warm and sticky, I even use the microwave at this time of year to pre-warm it.

TomS and Freebone are coming up sometime before FCS, feel free to as well one weekend if you want it done.

I'll get a new bar and give it a go when the weather eases up maybe, and have PM'd re: PC'ing. Cheers. :)

I thought my car was clean after a shampoo wash and dry but boy does the clay pic up some filth. I park next to some trees so i normally have white specks all over my passenger side from tree sap, the clay got rid of that no problem!:D The biggest bonus for me was that it was so easy to apply the wax after I'd clay'd a panel, this made the waxing process much much quicker....i didnt feel i had to put in loads of elbow grease to get a really good shine.
